Most of you reading this will know that we're trying to grow a few veggies and herbs this year. Most of my herbs this year were bought at the local grocery store or Lowe's or Home Depot. Hopefully next year I can get many of them from seeds I plant myself.
Here's a simple recipe I found in THIS wonderful magazine this week for home made pesto. I've often bought this at the store but thought it was time to try my own. So here goes.....
Take this......

add some of these....

actually you have to roast them first.....

blend them all together with some other ingredients (see recipe below)

and this is what you get... "hey Pesto!! (doesn't look very appetizing does it?)
but...... boil some whole wheat pasta (I used linguine)..... add a spoonful or two of pesto, and a little butter, top with Parmesan cheese and ........... Voila!
you have a delicious meal (just add a green salad and crusty white bread)
but...... boil some whole wheat pasta (I used linguine)..... add a spoonful or two of pesto, and a little butter, top with Parmesan cheese and ........... Voila!
